In April 2023, I collaborated with a group of artists on an exhibition titled Konversion. Located at Zollamt Studios in Offenbach am Main,  Germany, the exhibition included photography, sculpture, and an interactive audio-visual installation. The central piece of the exhibition was a one and a half hour live performance piece. During the performance audience members were invited to stand or sit on mattresses. Below you will find a rehearsal of the performance.

The performance was a rumination on my experiences growing up in two radically different countries and cultures. The first 10 years of my life were spent in Malaga, on on the Andalusian coast of Spain. Then I spent 12 years in Germany in Offenbach and Frankfurt am Main. Currently, I have returned to Spain and am living and working in Granada, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
In this performance, I work with authentic soils harvested from the mountains of my Spanish hometown and from the German countryside. The two soils have distinctly different colors. In this video, you will see me engage only with the German soil, as I waited to open the package Spanish soil until the live performance. Working on a white marked space, I used my body to express my emotions and create a series of images. The piece highlights my feelings of indecision, ambivalence and irresolution surrounding my multiple identities.
